The Smart Spectacle is a low-cost, wearable assistive device designed to help visually impaired individuals navigate safely and independently. It improves upon traditional white canes by detecting head-level obstacles and sudden road curves in real time
Powered by an Arduino UNO, the system uses an ultrasonic sensor and a gyroscope to continuously monitor the user's surroundings. When it detects a hazard or direction change, it immediately warns the wearer using both vibration motors and voice alerts
Uses an ultrasonic sensor to continuously measure the distance to objects in front of the user, warning them of hazards at head level
Utilizes a gyroscope sensor to detect sudden changes in head movement or direction, which indicates a road curve, turn, or slope
Provides immediate feedback to the user through a combination of voice alerts via an earphone/speaker and tactile feedback from a vibration motor
Designed as a lightweight spectacle frame, offering a hands-free, low-cost alternative to traditional white canes for independent navigation
