Overview

About the Project

The Phase Changer and Power Quality Measure Unit is an automated device designed to ensure uninterrupted electricity during frequent voltage fluctuations. Using an ESP32 microcontroller, it continuously monitors a three-phase supply and instantly switches the load to the healthiest phase if it detects a voltage drop of 10% or more

Additionally, the system acts as a comprehensive power monitor by actively calculating Total Harmonic Distortion (THD%), voltage sag, and energy consumption in kWh. It safely reads these values using isolated sensors and displays the real-time data on an LCD screen, providing a low-cost solution for homes and small industries

What It Does

Voltage and Current Sensing

Accurately measures essential power-quality parameters, including RMS voltage, load current, Total Harmonic Distortion (THD%), and energy consumption (kWh), using isolated sensors

Automatic Phase Selection

Continuously monitors the supply and, if the active phase experiences a voltage sag of 10% or more, automatically transfers the load to the most stable, healthiest phase

Features a compact 20x4 LCD screen that provides a live visualization of power-quality data, such as per-phase voltage, sag percentage, and the currently active phase

Safety Protection and Isolation

Safely separates the high-voltage AC circuits from the low-voltage control electronics using isolated sensing modules and regulated DC power conversion
